It is a privilege for students to represent Winchell Elementary in an extracurricular sport activity. It is expected that all students who participate in a sport team exemplify good sportsmanship and good citizenship.
Behavior Expectations
- Be respectful and courteous at all times.
- Exercise self-control.
- Exemplify fairness and good sportsmanship.
- Win with character, lose with dignity; and never quit.
- Respect officials and accept their decisions without gesture or argument.
- Respect opponents. Taunting will not be tolerated.
- Have fun!
Classroom Expectations
- Students will complete classwork and homework to the best of their abilities.
- Students will turn in a weekly academic/behavior report to their coach.
Classroom Teacher Expectations:
- Teachers will complete a weekly academic/behavior report that students will give to their coach.
Coaches Responsibilities
- Attend district COED Coaches meeting.
- Have current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Plan practice schedule. Turn in schedule to VP for Activities Calendar.
- Coach students in preparation for tournament.
- Give teachers a weekly Student Athletic Responsibility Report to check on students behavior and classroom work.
- Arrange tournament field trip, i.e., substitute plans, lunch arrangements for students, transportation, etc.
Student Athletic Responsibility Report
Students will be required to turn in a weekly report to their coach during their sport season. The classroom teacher must complete the report each week in order for students to be eligible to participate. The coach will provide the report to teachers.
